The picture that killed my Camera.

So yesterday I was wandering around Clare, Michigan taking pictures of the Amish haystacks (I'll post those tomorrow night) and I got the dreaded Error 99 on my Canon 50D. So I did a little research the net and found that Error 99 is a catch all error. I also found out that sometimes loading the latest firmware might clear it. So I loaded the latest firmware to get Error 20, which is some sort of mechanical failure. This is what I figured given that it kept my mirror locked. So off to the Canon Repair facility my camera goes.

Fortunately, my mom had the 40D I bought last year, so I am able to use that in the meantime but I don't like it as much as there isn't the megapixels and the dust cleaning isn't as good.
