Tigers Vs. Twins - 9/30/09

After having suffered through one of the worst decades in baseball for a team, it is nice to see the Tigers in a position where they can make the playoffs. Anyways, this series will determine who the Central Division champs will be. Going into this series, the Tigers had a two game lead on the Twins. There was a double header on Tuesday which they split, so I figured this game would be pivotal to the series so I decided to head down to Comerica and catch the game.

Exchanging the lineup cards before the game.

Jeff Bonine was on the mound, he gave up 2 runs in the first inning but locked down and was pretty solid after that.

This is Brandon Inge getting a hit.

Carlos Pavano.

The Umpire is Angel Hernandez....a jackass. You know it's pretty bad when you know an Umpire's name. I've seen other games where he's called....and they are usually bad. This one was no different.

OUT!

This is Jeff Mauer

Ramon Santiago after laying down a nice bunt.

Curtis Granderson. Normally a solid player, this year he is hitting around .250.

Granderson making an out.

Zack Miner.

Brandon Inge again.

Santiago laying down another bunt. This time he didn't make it.

I think this is Ordonez.

Francisco Liriano.

Rodney getting the final three outs.

Rodney and Cabrera celebrating their victory.

The centerfield fountain.

And the scoreboard that tells it all.

Sadly the Tigers lost today, but they are still up 2 games. So they need two wins against Chicago or 1 win and 1 loss from the Twins. Things are looking good.
