The Mariner's Church

The Mariner's Church was established in 1842 and the current structure was consecrated in 1849. Before the Civil War, the church was a stop for the Underground Railroad.

The Church serves Mariner's as evidenced by some of the decorations on the building. It was made famous in the Edmund Fitzgerald song about the Edmund Fitzgerald. Every year there is a service for the ship.

Looking up at the tower from another angle.

This is the stained glass window. One of these years I would like to get inside the church and see this with the light shining through it.

In 1955, the church was moved to make room for the Civic Center.
