And Finally...the Roger Blough

If you have followed this blog for any length of time, you will know that my favorite ship by far is the Roger Blough.  She's not the longest ship (the Paul Tregurtha) or the most famous (Arthur Anderson) or the oldest (St. Mary's Challenger) but in my opinion she is the coolest looking.

 For some reason, she reminds me of a snapping turtle laying low in the water and about ready to jump out an bite you.

 I'm not saying she's a slouch in the size department.  She's 858 feet long and can carry almost 44,000 tons of cargo.

 When I can catch her, I try to make it a point to do so.

 Since yesterday was a nice enough day, I decided I wasn't going to miss her although I knew it was going to be tight because I wanted to go to St. Joseph with a friend (more about that later).

 The almost straight on shot.  One of these days, I'm gonna try to crop it so it is mostly just the ship.

 This is my least favorite view of the Blough because it means that I'm not going to be seeing her again for a while. 

As I was heading back to the car, I couldn't pass up this shot of Belanger Park.  You can see that it was pretty busy yesterday.
