Next up is the ship that I wanted to catch.
The Manitowoc is one of the River Class ships. After the shipping companies built the 1000 footers, they realized they need smaller ships for some of the other places on the Great Lakes. These ships are equipped with bow thrusters to help maneuver in the windy rivers that they sometimes find themselves on.
They are also less than 700 feet long.
The Manitowoc was heading down from one of the stone ports which means she was carrying a load of stone.
She was heading to Fairport, Ohio which is slightly east of Cleveland.
I presume she is delivering that stone there.
Anyway, I like to catch these ships for some reason they remind me of warships.
With daylight savings, I was starting to get the late afternoon sun.
Anyway, it looked kind of nice.
I think some of these pictures are out of order as Google has been messing up the order.
But you can't really tell too much, I suppose.
She passes Windsor.
Again, I was able to use my drone. I really like this shot with the Ambassador Bridge.
The J.W. Westcott is leaving her.
She starts to pass.
She is a nice looking ship.
But it seems like she could use some paint.
The beam shot.
And she continues on her way, from this point, it is about 10 hours to Fairport.
