On Sunday I decided to head up to Port Huron. I saw that there were a couple ships I was interested in catching passing Port Huron.
The Edgar Speer was the first of them.
She is one of thirteen thousand footers on the Great Lakes.
She is a massive ship that can carry quite a bit but I think because of her unloader, she is almost exclusively used to carry iron ore.
To that end, she was on her way to Conneaut, Ohio to deliver ore there.
From this point, it would be another 17 hours or so until she reaches her destination.
A shot of her pilothouse.
You can see the person in the breezeway to give you an idea of scale.
And she passes by.
Holy COW! That is one huge ship! Enjoying your photos!
