I was waffling a little bit about going out yesterday. I was a little on the tired side and then I saw that the Lee A. Tregurtha was coming down. It was a nice enough day, so I headed over to Port Huron to catch her.
She was coming down from Marquette with a load of taconite.
She was heading to the steel mill on the Rouge River. If I thought I could have caught her there, I would have waited but it would be dark by the time she arrived there.
Although, I wouldn't mind trying it someday but that's not exactly the nicest of areas.

I love watching ships as they come off Lake Huron. They do a little dance to get on the St. Clair River.
Downbound ships in the afternoon are almost perfectly lit and that helps as well.
The Tregurtha has a scrubber, so she has the steam that makes her look like a steamship.

It was a little on the windy side, so I didn't have my drone with me.
