Lenawee County Courthouse

If you head west from Monroe County, you will find yourself in Lenawee County.

Lenawee County was founded in 1822 after it was split off from Monroe County.  It's County Seat is Adrian which was founded in 1826.  At the time of Michigan's admittance to the Union, it was the sixth largest city.  Adrian was an important spot on the Underground Railroad.
The courthouse was built in 1885 and is a Romanesque Revival building.  In 1974, it was added to the Michigan Historic Register and the Federal one in 1991.
It looks pretty nice.
