Catching the Tug Everlast and Her Barge the Norman McLeod

 I saw that the Arthur Anderson was coming down, so I decided to do a brief bit of boatwatching.

the Anderson was behind this one, so I figured I would take some pictures of this one.

The tug is the Everlast and the barge is the Norman McLeod.

They were loading in Sarnia.  I'm not sure what they were loading but based on the name of the company, I suspect it was asphalt.    

She was heading to Montreal.

I think that is a couple days.

She passes the Ambassador Bridge.

The Leo A. McArthur/John J. Carrick Tug/Barge

 Next up was the vessel that was requiring all that support.

The tug name is the Leo McArthur and the barge is the John J. Carrick.

The barge is used to carry ashphalt and it was heading to Windsor.

I assume that the Risley was going there with her.

I don't think the Carrick has much icebreaking capability and needed the icebreakers to help her.

Although, I think they can detach the tug and use the tug to do some icebreaking.

Even though it wasn't a proper ship, it was nice to see her.

She is about to pass.

I kind of like this view.

The Leo McArthur/John Carrick Unloading in Windsor

On Wednesday, I decided to head down to Riverside Park to catch a ship that I thought was on her last year of service.  

While I was waiting for that ship, I saw this ship across the river and decided to take a picture of it.  Well, it is not actually a ship but an articulated tug and barge.  The tug is the Leo McArthur and the barge is the John Carrick.  Both are owned by McAsphalt Marine and the barge is used to carry asphalt.  I've seen it a few times in the past.  It was just nice to get another picture.
