Tucked away in a town called Sterling, Michigan is restaurant called Iva's. Sterling is approximately 40 miles north of Bay City, Michigan.
Iva's was established as a restaurant in 1938. They serve chicken and a few other dishes but they are known for the chicken. You can get it southern fried or stewed. Both are pretty decent.
You can tell they've been around for a while from the sign. When we went there last night, it wasn't terribly busy though.

We ate there once upon a time - I thought it was neat to have "real" dishes - like eating at Grandma's, and table clothes with real napkins. Eating at Iva's is a lot like eating at Grandma's on holidays, if you have a really really huge family where you don't know any of them (HA HA! because, of course, you're eating in a public place where you probably won't know the other patrons, right?)
Hey! I've eaten here a few times! It's like walking into someone's home from 50-60 years ago. Food is good.
