Just a Seagull

I kind of liked the effect of this picture.

A seagull flies by.

A Seagull

While I was waiting for the next boat.

This guy made an appearance.
As you can see, it was kind of windy out.
Just kind of strolling.

A Seagull

 I see lots of seagulls.

I like their color scheme, so I try to take pictures of them.  Most of the time, that doesn't work.
In this case it did work.
I like this shot.
And I really like this shot.

A Seagull

Again, I have time between ships for pictures.

This time it was of a seagull.  I think this one might have been in the Rescuers.

Seagulls

As I am waiting for ships, I have an opportunity to take pictures of the wildlife.

Since there are many seagulls by the river, I get to take many pictures of them.  This one was flying overhead into the wind, so he was moving slow enough.
this one posed for me, I think his name was Steven.

A Seagull

Usually as I am waiting for the ship to pass, I will take pictures of birds.

I kind of liked how this one was just standing here.  Besides, I like the colors of seagulls.

Seagull Pictures

On Sunday, I went up to Port Huron with my dad.  There was a pretty cool array of ships that would be passing.

While I was waiting for the first ship, this guy was posing for me.
Another one was flying.
Closeup.
He was definitely showing off for the camera.
I like this one with the Blue Water Bridge in the background.

Some Seagulls

Again, I still had some time to kill before the next ship.

This guy was standing next to me.
I thought he looked pretty cool.
So I took some pictures.
One more.

A Seagull Flies Over

As I was taking pictures of the Tregurtha, I saw a seagull fly by.

Of course I had to take a picture of him.

Fowl Creatures

This pictures span two days.  Often when I am out boatwatching, I have a little downtime.  That gives me the opportunity to take some duck pictures.

This is a Canada goose as he flies by.
I think this is a merganser.
A male and female pair.
I'm not sure what kind of duck this is.
But it looks pretty cool.
Another pictures.
In flight.
Another one.
A seagull.
This is a long tail duck.
Another picture of him.
diving.
This one is from this morning.
A goose coming in for a landing.

Catching a Seagull

 There was a seagull nearby.

While I had a little loll, I took a picture.

I Swear It Was An Eagle

As I was heading up River Road to get to the spot where I normally see snowy owls, I saw a couple of eagles.  Sadly, they weren't in a good place to get pictures.  As I headed back, I went back and forth a couple times.  And then I saw one.

Unfortunately, the eagle flew away and was replaced by this seagull.
While I'm happy with the pictures I would have been happier with an eagle.
Especially in this light.
I tried the spot a couple more times but the eagle kept flying away.  I was losing my light, so I gave up.  I might try again tomorrow.

A Seagull and Ship

My dad came down today and we decided to go out boatwatching.  It was a little on the cold side but not too bad.

As I was watching my ship pass, I kind of liked this shot.

A Seagull

This was also taken while I was waiting for my ship.

It was pretty windy today and there were a bunch of seagulls hanging around the island today.  The wind made it a little easier to get pictures of them.  I kind of like this shot.

A Bunch of Seagulls

As I was taking pictures of the ship, I saw someone taking a picture to the side of me.

I looked and I kind of like the way they were manning the rails.  It was almost as if they were saluting their fellow sea creature.

You Can't Park There

I sometimes have a little time between boats.

The weather was looking threatening again but I had one more ship to catch and I wasn't going to miss her.
I kind of liked this shot of the seagull.  Especially with its wings outstretched.
I'm not sure what his handicap is though.
One more shot.

Catching a Seagull

As I was waiting for the next ship to come into range, I saw this seagull.  I kind of liked the fact that the next ship was behind it.

There is an out of focus American Mariner behind the seagull.
He was stretching out.
I got a little closer.
I kind of like this one.
