Hart Plaza - Fountain

The Hart Plaza is located in Downtown Detroit near the Renaissance Center. It was opened in 1975 and is used for many major events in Detroit. It is roughly in the same spot where Antoine De La Mothe Cadillac landed in 1701. He was the person that founded Detroit.

This is the Horace E. Dodge and Son Fountain which was designed by Isamu Noguchi and Walter Budd in 1978

This is the Transcending Sculpture. It is a 59 foot tall stainless steel sculpture that was a gift to Detroit on its 300th Anniversary from the Labor Unions. Arond the base are some scenes in labor history.
