Tawas Point Lighthouse

The second Tawas Point Lighthouse was built in 1876 after the first one had a number of accidents and other problems. The tower is 70 feet tall. The point itself is a navigation hazard but the bay is for the most part sheltered from the elements so provides a safe harbor. The lighthouse itself is on a State Park.

A nice shot looking through the woods.

A 3/4 view of the house.

Looking up at the tower.

A 3/4 view from the other side.

A view from the front.

Looking up the tower.

Looks like a little farm stand with a lighthouse attached in need of some paint. Nice detail on apparently an otherwise dreary day.
