Michigan Exposures Welcomes a New Ship

I was thinking about heading down to Dayton today, there was an air show and they were going to have the Blue Angels.  It has been pretty hot the past week and I wasn't sure I wanted to sit in a hot car for the show.  As I looked at the weather this morning, it looked like it might be iffy.  Although, it might have made for interesting vapor trails.  But I decided that I didn't want to take a chance on nasty weather.

As I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do today, I saw that a ship that I really like to catch was coming down.  I also saw that I could catch her in Port Huron if I left right away.  So I headed up.
When I arrived in Port Huron, this ship was making her approach.  I didn't see her on Marine Traffic and if I had, I would have been excited.
She is the Wicky Spirit belonging to McKeil Marine.  She is not a new ship, but I think she is new to the Great Lakes.
She's a double hulled, twin screw tanker capable of handling the ice.
She was built in 2008 by Gisan Gemi in Istanbul, Turkey.
She was built as the Torquoise T before being sold to McKeil Marine in 2019.
She is named for Robert Wickens who is a NASCAR driver.
She is 448 feet long and 65 feet wide.
She can carry 8,600 tons of liquids.  She is also equipped with nitrogen generating equipment for freezing gases.
One thing nice about the McKeil ships, is that it seems like they are taken care of.
