A Not Quite So Nickel Plated Adventure

Last week, I saw that the Nickel Plate 765 was going on an excursion, so I caught her.  So I looked at their website to see if that was happening again.  I thought that they were doing an excursion with her this weekend too.  Sadly, I didn't look at the fine print, "a diesel excursion".

I thought the trip was from Pleasant Lake, Indiana to Reading, Michigan which was one of the places I was last week.  It said a two and half hour tour, so I thought I could stop at one of spots along the way.  Sadly, I kind of misestimated times, so I doubled back from Reading and I finally caught up with her in Angola.  Well last week, I did a group photos of the folks at work and I still had my camera in delay mode.  This shot is because I was moving the camera as I was trying to figure that out.

Although I kind of like how this picture turned out, especially since I couldn't really fix it.

I figured out what I was doing and set it back in normal mode, but the train was passing by.   The passengers were waving.  Something about folks on a train.
The trailing engine.
One more shot of that, but unfortunately I was shooting in to the sun.
There was one more stop on the trip for the train, which was Pleasant Lake, so I headed there.  My mom pointed out that the lead engine did say Nickel Plate on it.
Turns out that it was one of their diesel engines.  So, I guess this was Nickel Plated adventure after all.  But I usually reserve that term for the steam engine.
I couldn't get a shot clearly of "Nickel Plate" though.
One of the conductors getting ready to offload the train.
The trail engine again.  I was a nice little trip but it wasn't what I was expecting though but I figured out where I could go for the next time the steam engine takes this trip.
