As I was decided to stick around in Detroit yesterday, I saw that I had a chance to catch a new visitor to this blog.
The visitor in question was the Arcticus. She is owned by the United States Geological Survey.
She is used primarily to carry out annual prey fish assessments. It is a study used to determine the health of the Great Lakes.
She is based in Charlevoix and currently operated in Lake Erie and Huron.
She was on her way to Cleveland.
She has can remain at sea for thirty days and has accommodations for eight people.
She is equipped with a full galley and two heads.
I thought it was pretty cool to see her and she serves an important function.
Of course there are some who will say that isn't true.
