This is the landing guide. It replaces the guys that used to use paddles in the past. The center set of lights tell you where you are in relation to the glide scope. The other lights tell you other things.
A CH-47 Sea Knight. This particular helicopter was used for replenishment.

An A-7 Corsair II. This aircraft is sometimes refered to as SLUF (short little ugly feller).
An F-8 Crusader. This aircraft was supersonic capable.
