I had to catch one more set of pictures.
I decided to catch the Wolverine before heading home. I missed the eastbound Wolverine by catching the planes.
It's been a while since I've caught the Wolverine in Ypsilanti.
It was a nice day.
And one more shot.

The Queen and Her Princesses
My malaise continued into Sunday but I looked at the flight patterns and decided that I wanted to catch a 747 in take off. So I headed over to Metro Airport. It was a nice day but a little muggy.
So first up was a 737-900 that was heading for San Diego. That is roughly a 4.5 hour flight.
N658CA is a CRJ-700 operated by GoJet for Delta Connection. It was on its way to St. Louis, Missouri.
It's not an official nickname by any means but to me the 757 is the Princess of the Skies. I think she is a beautiful aircraft. Maybe enough people will read this blog and get that name to stick. It's fitting. Anyway, this particular princess was on its way to Seattle.
I can't quite make out the tail number for this CRJ-200.
This 757 was on its way to LAX.
Another angle of that plane.
This CRJ was on its way to Lansing.
It wasn't too long before the Queen appeared.
Many consider the 747 as the Queen of the Skies. This particular one was on its way to Tokyo. I think she is going to be replaced by the A350 in October or so. The last Delta flight of the 747 will be in December.

A Brief Stop in Ann Arbor
I took kind of a convoluted way home, so I decided to make a quick stop at the Ann Arbor Airport on the off chance that I could catch a plane or two.
First up was this Piper Arrow taking off. I didn't get my camera ready in time to catch it.
Next up was this Beechcraft Bonaza seaplane. Normally I just see it sitting at the airport but Saturday I saw it in the air. I didn't get any pictures of it in the air but I got a different angle than I normally do.
And it went back to its normal spot.

The Jiffy Mix Wolverine
I didn't really feel like doing much this weekend, so I ended up heading over to Chelsea. Little did I realize that it was also the weekend of the Chelsea Art Festival. But that didn't deter me too much.
I ended up missing the westbound Wolverine by about five minute but the eastbound Wolverine would be appeared soon.
Or as some people say, "In a Jiffy".
These were sitting in front of the train station and while I was waiting I figured I would take some pictures of them.
I think these are mums. Well the flower...not belonging to my mother.
I kind of liked the variety.
The Wolverine was running a little late.
So it wasn't here in a Jiffy.
But it made for a nice picture.
I wanted to get a picture of the signal lights.

Missing the Dreamliner
On Friday Night I decided to head over to the airport again in order to the catch the 787 taking off. I figured that it would be taking off in the right direction for me to get pictures of it.
First up was this United Airlines 737-900 on its way to San Francisco.
A CRJ-200 taking off for Fort Wayne. This particular one is operated by Sky West.
I can't make out the tail number for this one. So I'll assume it's heading somewhere.
This Endeavor Air CRJ-900 was on its way to Indianapolis.
A 757 on its way for Rice-A-Roni.
A SkyWest CRJ-200 going to seek Touchdown Jesus.
And this 757 was on its way to Portland.

Thursday Night Flights
So on Thursday night, I decided to head over to the airport again. I wasn't really after anything in particular other than getting some shots of planes taking off. I was shooting from the field between Wick and Smith Roads. The planes were taking off to the north.
First up was an Airbus A320 on its way to Phoenix.
I like it when I can get the tail numbers of the planes. That lets me tell you where they were off to. It's amazing the planes that these planes travel to. A 737-900 on its way to Denver.
I wish this picture were a little clearer because I would like it alot more. Anyway, a Boeing 717 on its way to Kansas City.
this MD-88 was on its way to Memphis.
A CRJ-700 on its way to O'Hare.
Another one that was heading to Midway.
A 757-300 on its way to San Francisco.
I really liked this shot.
I liked the orange plane against the dark background.
Another CRJ.
As I was taking a picture of this Southwest 737, I was approached by someone off the street. He asked me what I was doing. I told him that I was taking pictures of airplanes. He then said that it was illegal and I said that I don't think so. He moved on. It is not illegal to take pictures of airplanes from public areas.
And I'll end with a 757 on its way to LAX.

Tuesdays With the Mad Dogs
I hoped to catch the Royal Jordanian 787 as it came in for a landing. The traffic patterns were right for me. The only problem was that it came it at 5:00 instead of the later time it was coming in. So I went home, ate dinner and then decided to go out to catch it taking off. It normally takes off around 8:00 P.M. or so.
I had lunch in the office on Tuesday, so that meant some planewatching before going back to work after lunch. There wasn't too much big stuff, but there was this Cessna 152. It has appeared many times on this blog though.
For the 787, I headed over to the Cell Phone Lot. I figured that I would try to move to a spot where I could get a decent angle on the planes. I think I came close with this shot of the 737.The shot of the other runway aren't too bad though. As evidenced by this Embrear 170 coming in from Newark.
That was followed by this Airbus A320 coming in from LaGuardia.
And a CRJ.
Which was quickly followed by another CRJ.
N335NB is the tail number of an Airbus A319 that belongs to Delta. At the time this picture was taken, it was heading to Austin, Texas.
A Jet Blue A320. With the angle I took it at, it almost looks like it is going rocket.
Another CRJ.
The School Bus (or Taxi) Spirit plane.
N923DL taking off for Cleveland. This is an MD-88.
It was followed by N923DN which was headed to Atlanta.
This CRJ-900 was on its way to O'Hare Airport in Chicago.
Another Boeing 717. When it was released, it was going to be known as the MD-95 but then Boeing took over and renamed it.And another one.
An Airbus A320.
A United 737 on its way to San Francisco.
An A319 on its way to Reagan National in Washington DC.
A 757. I think this one might have been headed for Seattle.
A MD-90 on its way somewhere.
This 737-900 was on its way to Tampa.
The 787 that I was waiting for.
Because I like the fact that I got one of the beacons.
A 757-300 on its way to San Francisco. Or at least I think it is.
And we ended with an Airbus A330.
