I found out that the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train would be passing by tonight and I heard where it would be passing, so I decided to head to Belleville in order to catch it.
I thought that it was going to be passing around 7:30 or so but the line is owned by Norfolk-Southern so the Holiday Train gets low priority to the Norfolk-Southern trains. We heard the horn, but it was coming from the wrong direction.
It was still cool to get some night shots of a train.
And this particular train headed to the east.
After the passing of another freight train and some disappointed people, the Holiday Train passed about an hour later. I'll have to admit that it was pretty neat to catch a train that is all decorated.
The train itself has been running for close to two decades at the Holiday Train. There are actually two of them. One goes through Canada and the other visits the United States. There are shows along the route and they use those shows as a food bank. It's kind of cool.
I'm hoping that this train passes by next year because I would definately like to catch it.
Like I said, it's pretty neat.
It's even neater as it passes by. I tried to head over to Milan to catch it there but it was long gone by the time I made it there.

Wandering on Huron River Drive
I decided to take a drive down Huron River drive today. It was an okay day for a ride and not too bad for pictures.
My shot of the Huron River from near the Barton Dam.
The Barton Dam and the railroad bridge. One of these days, I'll have to try to get the train going over.
Looking down the Huron River from the foot bridge.
The water was pretty smooth against today and that makes for nice pictures.
But water going down the dam make for nicer pictures, I think.
I tried a shot through the trees.
The iron bridge near Delhi Park.
From the park itself.
Kind of looking through the bridge.

The Turkey Day Wolverine
I ended up going over to my cousin's for Thanksgiving dinner but before heading out of town, I saw that I had a chance to catch the Wolverine.
I timed it just about perfectly because it wasn't too long after I got there that it passed by. I tried a spot closer to the depot this time.
I was hoping for a different angle for the depot and Depot Town. Sadly, I wished that moving truck wasn't in the picture.
But it was cool seeing the train.
I noticed that they had a few more cars tacked on. Must have been pretty busy.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone
Every year, I do a Thanksgiving Day post and every year I tried to post something related to turkey. It usually ends up being either an F-14 Tomcat or a Grumman Avenger since both of those planes are called turkeys. This year, I would try something different.
How about a ship from Turkey? This is the Duzgit Endeavor and she's owned by a Turkish company.
So to all my friends and readers, I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving.

Central Michigan at Eastern Michigan in Pictures
I only have a couple pictures from the game itself in here. If you want to see my game pictures, go to Hustle Belt.
The color guard getting ready to march onto the field. I kind of liked the setting here.
The band marching on the field.
One of the drum majors.
A pretty close to overall shot of the band.
One of the twirlers.
Swoop being Swoop.
Dieuly Aristilde catching a touchdown pass.
Swoop with one of the dance team members.
For the halftime show, the band played three songs from Frank Sinatra. They looked and sounded pretty good.
The twirlers were pretty awesome too.
The band setting up a kick line.
the dance team was part of Luck Be a Lady Tonight.
And they looked pretty good too.
One more shot of the band.
The eagle didn't fly around the field last night, but they used her to set up some shots of the seniors.
Another shot of the eagle.
There was a drumline set up between the 3rd and 4th Quarters.
It sounded really good.
Central Michigan had just scored to make the game 21-20 in favor in Central Michigan. Eastern Michigan converted on 4th and 6 to set up this play. Brogan Roback threw a nice pass to Sergio Bailey II to get the game winning touchdown. Central Michigan had 40 seconds to get the lead back, Eastern Michigan ended it with an interception.
Sometimes, you don't need pictures from the game itself to show what happened.
It was a pretty exciting finish to a pretty exciting regular season.
I wish Eastern Michigan the best of luck in whatever bowl game they end up in.

A Stern Shot of the Schoonmaker
Since I was in a spot for it...
I'll decide to end this series of posts with the end of the Colonel James M. Schoonmaker.
Have a nice night.
