The current lighthouse was built in 1927 out of metal. The tower itself is 39 feet tall and the catwalk is only one of a few in Michigan that still survives. It still has it's light and was put for sale in 2009 under the Lighthouse Preservation Act.

This is a shot of the lighthouse and the beach near it. One of the things I like about the western side of the state is that the beaches are much nicer and sandier.
