So I decided to go boatwatching on the 2nd. It was a nice day and I saw at least two ships that I was interested in catching. Plus it was actually sunny out.
So I decided to head up to Port Huron where I could catch both of the ships that I really wanted to catch. It is probably fitting that my first ship of the year would be the Kaye E. Barker.
She seems like a ship that I have caught a few times this year.
She makes the trip between Marquette and Dearborn fairly often.
But that wasn't the case this time.
This time she was heading down to Ashtabula.
I think she was heading down from Cedarville because I think it was likely that she was carrying stone.
I think from this point, it would about 15 hours or so until her destination.
It was a nice enough day to catch her but it was a little on chilly side.
But the sun being out helped that quite a bit.
She makes the turn for the St. Clair River.
She gets framed by the Blue Water Bridge.
And continues on her way.
She passes the Casino.
A shot of her pilothouse.
A stern shot.
She continues down the river.
Most of her stern.
And more of her stern as I move to the next ship.
