As I was flying my drone and looking for the first ship of the day, I saw that this one was loading on the river.
I decided to get some pictures. It is the tugboat New York and it was pushing the barge Double Skin 509A. I believe they were loading some kind of gas as they were at the Marathon terminal. The New York was built by St. Johns Shipbuilding of Palatka, Florida for the Vane Brothers Company of Baltimore.
The tug is powered by two Caterpillar diesel engines with a total rating of 4,200 horsepower.
The barge is also owned by the Vane Brothers. It can carry 55,000 barrels of oil. It is designed for carrying heavy oils.
