As I was looking at the other ships, I saw that there were pair of Federal Navigation ships docked at Nicholson. I think they were offloading coil steel.
The ship in front is the Federal Columbia and I don't remember which one was in back.

Catching Up with the American Integrity
The next ship represented my 10th thousand footer for the weekend. If timing would have been better, I think I would have seen at least 12 of them but that didn't quite work out.
The Federal Columbia heads up towards Duluth. The American Integrity heads towards the Locks. A Dash 8 that was landing at the Airport in Sault Ste Marie, Canada.
I believe the American Integrity was heading down from Superior, WI with a load of coal.
And I believe she was heading to the power plant in St. Clair.
At any rate, I liked the setting sun and the gray clouds.
And one more shot as she heads towards the Locks.
Apparently that Sunday night was supposed to be a good one to see the Aurora Borealis. Sadly, it clouded over.

The Federal Columbia Leaves the Soo
After the Oberstar, I headed up to Sherman Park because I wanted to catch the American Integrity as she left the Soo Locks.
I got a bonus ship in the form of the Federal Columbia. She had been docked near the Essar Docks all weekend and she ended up heading out for Duluth.

Michigan Exposures Hits the Road - Day 4
Today was a fairly busy boat day again, except that it was split into two parts. There was a nice flurry of activity in the morning and then another in the evening. I was going to go to Tahquamenon Falls but there was a line coming out of the park. Then I went up to Whitefish Point and it was the same way. It's no fun trying to photograph stuff when there are tons of people around.
This was one of my last of the evening. The American Integrity was coming into the Locks and the Federal Columbia was leaving the Soo. As they crossed, a Dash 8 flew over. While it's not quite my trifecta picture. It will do.
