The Oakland Bay Bridge

Construction began on the bridge in 1933 and was completed in 1936. The bridge itself is in two sections. A Cantileaver bridge from Oakland to Yerba Beuna Island and a suspension bridge from the island into the city of San Francisco. The suspension bridge has a length of over 10,000 feet each span is over 2000 feet.

The bridges are split into two levels. One level goes into San Francisco and the other goes out of the city.

This is a shot from near Coit Point.

This shot is from across the bay.

This is another shot from across the bay and it shows the full length of the bridge.
