Next stop was DeTour Village. It is a pretty nice little spot at the eastern end of the Upper Peninsula. It is also the point where you can catch the ferry to go over to Drummond Island.
I think this would have been a dock at some point. I just liked the looks of the logs sticking out of the water.

There is also a pretty nice State Harbor in DeTour. This is the boat that the Conservation Officer uses.
And another angle of that boat. Conservation Officers fall under the Michigan Department of Natural Resources which was founded in 1921. The DNR is responsible for overseeing the many State Parks and wildlife laws of the state. Conservation Officers have full police powers.
