The Frontenac

As I was heading down to Belle Isle, I would swear that I saw a ship under the Ambassador Bridge. My sighting was confirmed as I was starting to head back to my car and I saw this ship heading just passed the Dossin Museum.

The ship is the Frontenac, owned by the Canada Steamship Lines. She was built in Lauzon Quebec in 1967 as a straight deck bulk carrier. She was named after the first governor of what would become Quebec.

In 1972, she was converted to a self unloader.

Her overall length is 729 feet and she can carry 26,000 tons of cargo.

I like this shot. To the left you can see the navigational aid. Off in the distance you can see the James L. Kuber.

I also like this shot because of the aeriness of the feeling.
