This is a very nice statue and is in a sort of nice spot in that it is shaded and in a fairly quiet part of the park. It is dedicated to James J. Brady who founded the Old Newsboys Goodfellas of Detroit fund. The idea was that people would pay more for a newspaper if the proceeds were going to charity.
On one side you see the satchel representing the newspapers sold and on the other a child that he helped. One of the things I like about this statue is that he is smiling that doesn't happen very often on statues.
He looks very happy.
I would have to say that this is a very nice statue.
