Wayne County Building

I'm pretty sure that I have posted pictures of this building before because it is a pretty nice building. Since I like it, I will post more.

The Wayne County building was constructed between 1897 and 1902. The architect was John Scott and is an example of Roman Baroque architecture. It was built using copper, stone and granite.

This is on the front of the building and depicts Anthony Wayne "negotiating" with the Native Americans.

This is one of the statues...either Victory or Progress by sculptor J. Massey Rhind.

This is a closeup shot of the tower. At about the middle are some more sculptures.

The sculpture from another angle.

The tower from another angle. You can see the statues better. They represent law, commerce, agriculture and mechanics.

The building from another angle. You can almost see it in its full glory but it is tough as its surrounded by other buildings.
