During the Marine demonstration, given the location, there was marine activity of a different nature. It was the sort of marine activity that I am used to seeing.
The CSL Laurentien was heading downbound and the CSL Welland was heading upbound. I presume the CSL Welland would have been heading up to Thunder Bay to pick up a load of something.
The CSL Laurentien was heading towards Nanticoke, Ontario. I am going to assume it was with a load of iron as there is a steel mill there. I'm not sure where it was heading from.
If it was Thunder Bay, it would have been roughly a two day journey to Detroit.
Nanticoke is to the west of the Welland Canal, so it is roughly another days journey for this ship.
She's getting passed by the Detroit Underwater Recovery boat on one side and the Algoway on the other.
And here she's getting passed by a boatload of Marines.
And one more shot before she moves on.
