The Horses at the Zoo

I'm amazed at the variety of animals they have at the Detroit Zoo. There is a section where they have farm animals. Nearby they have a couple of horses. I believe these are rescued race horses.

It was funny, I was just going to walk by the pen but the horse posed for me. So I had to oblige.

I wish I would have had more time at the zoo but I guess that's why I have a membership.

You are tougher than me, that's for sure. (Walking around at a zoo in the snow is not for the faint of heart.)

We had passes for the zoo here for several years and then one day my kids said; "Please don't make us go to the zoo any more." I smiled and realized it was an end of an era.

I did some of my research work at the San Diego Zoo. I worked with birds of prey and wolves. I like visiting but long hikes up and down the canyon it's built in, during the summer heat, is not any fun.

By the way, those horses look cold. Brrrrr.

I thought the San Diego Zoo was pretty nice although I'll agree with you about the hills. Although I visited there in October (or November) so it wasn't too bad. The LA Zoo was much worse for heat.

Actually, it wasn't quite in the snow as the walkways are pretty well shoveled. And the zoo is quite nice in the winter as there are fewer people and most of the animals are pretty active.
