I was up at the Troy office today, so I checked AIS to see if there would be anything I could see as I passed Detroit. Judging by where the ships were, I figured I would have to go to Del Ray in order to catch them.
The first ship I saw was the Indiana Harbor. I arrived at the park just as she was in view, so I had to move quickly.
Fortunately I have enough wide angleness to catch her full beam. I'll have to admit the 1000 footers are pretty impressive.
At least the weather was nicer than the last time I saw her.
I thought that maybe she was going to turn around to dock at the Great Lakes Steel Works.
I was still hopeful....
But it was not to be....
