Tucked at the other end of Belle Isle is the Livingstone Lighthouse. I've covered it here before, so I will not go into much detail.
It was designed by Albert Kahn.
It is one of over 100 lighthouses in Michigan.
It is the only lighthouse constructed out of marble.
I don't think it's an active aid to navigation but it is one of the few lighthouses dedicated to a person.
William S. Livingstone was very influential in the development of shipping on the Great Lakes.
If you get a chance, you should go see it.
It's well worth the walk.
