This is one of the weekends of the year that I look forward to because it is typically the weekend of the Dayton Air Show. Unfortunately, I had to make choices this year because Bay City was holding its tall ship festival and I kind of wanted to go to that. However, since ships don't have wings and the Blue Angels do, the Blue Angels won out.
This is the Wright Flyer B. It is not the plane that made them famous but one of the early production versions of a plane. This particular one is decorated in the livery of the Army Signal Corps.
This is the tail of a P-3 Orion Subhunter plane. Sadly, this plane will be retired soon as a version of the 737 called the P-8 will be replacing it.
This was kind of neat as a parachutist came down with the long streamer.
This is the front section of a DC-3 painted up in American Airlines livery. Sadly, I came down too late to see it in the air because this is a neat plane to watch fly.
Another parachutist with the flag draped out.
This is a UH-1 Huey. They were offering rides on it and it was kind of neat to hear them coming and going because it almost reminded me of a Vietnam movie.
This is an AH-1 Huey Cobra, they were also offering rides on this one. Didn't try to find out how much it would cost though.
This is Sean Tucker, stunt pilot and a pretty good one too.
This was an F-16 Fighting Falcon getting put through its paces.
Here you can see vapor coming off the wings as the plane is pulled into a high g maneuver.
This shot is about 90% perfect for me. It would have been 100% had I been able to get the full nose in.
This is the B-17 used in the movie "Memphis Belle" as the Memphis Belle. It is always very neat to watch these planes take to the air. It is also neat to hear their engines.
The F-16 in another high g maneuver.
The F-16 taxiing to its spot.
The Memphis Belle in flight.
The F-16 pilot as he's about to get out of his aircraft. Notice the sweat on his hair.
This B-17 is called Sentimental Journey.
This was kind of neat as the wing walker and the pilot get in a "sword fight".
One of the stunt planes moving to another spot.
