Frankfort Lighthouse

Frankfort is on the western coast of Michigan on Lake Michigan. It is about 30 miles or so south of Traverse City and roughly a 4 hour drive from the metro Detroit Area. It used to be one of the main points for car ferries heading over to Wisconsin but as fewer people took the ferries across the lakes, they became less prominent. Now it is pretty much a vacation spot as it is also near Crystal Lake.

This is a shot of the Lighthouse as the waves are hitting it. It was pretty windy yesterday.

This is the ranging light.

Another shot of the lighthouse from another park. This made for a nicer view.

A shot looking down the beach.

An overall shot of the breakwater.
