Lighthouse and Channel Marker

 Just a couple of pictures before leaving Windmill Point.

This marks the entrance to the Detroit River.

The Windmill Point lighthouse.  I think it is now automated.  I'm not sure if it is still an active aid to navigation though.

A Channel Marker

 I caught a picture of this as I was waiting for my ship.

I think this is called a starboard hand marker.  It is supposed to be on the starboard side of a boat or ship when it is heading upstream.  I've seen this one before and it looks like a cormorant hotel.

The Range Markers in Port Huron

I took this picture while I was waiting for the next ship.  I see them all the time but I don't think I've ever posted a picture of them.

These are called range markers, they let a ship captain know when he is properly lined up with the channel.
