As we were heading back to the car from the Manistee, I heard the sound of a fire engine.
Of course, I looked up and had my camera ready. I couldn't pass up a picture of fire engine in action.
Nor could I pass up a picture of the ambulance following it.

A Detroit Fire Engine
As I was leaving, I saw the Fire Engine pull out.
What I thought was going to be a day where I would get some pictures of the Wolverine and that's it turned out to be pretty good. I got some pictures of some things that I didn't think I would get pictures of. I guess a fire truck is one of those things.

One of the Pittsfield Fire Stations
This is actually some pictures that I've been meaning to get for a while.
As I would drive home from work, I would look to see one of the Pittsfield Township Fire Stations and I kind of liked the way the fire engines looked in the front. I thought it would make an interesting reflective picture. Since I was heading that way yesterday, I decided to stop an get a picture.
The Fire Department is part of the Pittsfield Township Department of Safety. I'm not sure when it was organized but it does look like it is split into a Fire and Police Department.
Based on another website I found, it looks it is a mostly volunteer fire department but I would imagine they have a core group of people just in case. Anyway, I do like the look of fire engines, so here's a picture.
Another angle of the fire engine.
And one more...just for fun.

A Handful of Things on the River
Just some pictures of things along the river.
The Hollyhock calls Port Huron her home. Pretty soon she will be busy breaking ice.
The Huron Lightship. One of these days, I'll have to take a tour of her.
A tugboat.
The fishing tug from yesterday.
As I was taking pictures of one of the ships, this passed by.

The Clare Ladder Truck
Given where we went to try and catch the train, we ended up taking US-127 up to Mackinac instead of our normal way. This put us past Clare. My friend had never had Cops and Doughnuts before, so we had stop in Clare. I quickly remembered that they had their St. Patrick's stuff on Saturday. It was still kind of cool.
One of the things participating in the parade was the Clare Fire Department ladder truck. Fire trucks are pretty cool.
It was even cooler that they were waving to me.
Not quite sure why Clare would need a ladder truck. I'm guessing it would be for grain elevator fires or something that tall.
Oh well, it is still pretty cool.
