And a Harbour Fountain Sighting

I think I saw the Harbour Fountain the last time I was in Port Huron.  I believe that she was loading in Sarnia.
The Harbour Fountain is a tanker that is owned by the TB Marine Shipmanagement Couple out of Hamburg, Germany.
She is 473 feet long and 75 feet wide.  She is capable of carrying 16,909 tons of cargo.
Like many of the ships that come from Europe, she is flagged in a different country than the company that owns her.  In this case, it is Portugal.
I think that she is on her way to Kiel in Denmark but I'm not sure what she's carrying.
It will be about two weeks from today that she will make it to her destination.
She has a pretty unusual wake pattern.
And she continues on down the river.

A Cormorant and a Fountain

This is probably my favorite water bird.
I used to think the seagull was my happy place bird.  While I like the looks of them, I see them all too often.  The cormorant is a little rarer bird.
The Harbour Fountain was docked in Sarnia.  I'm not sure why though.
And this cormorant was having dinner.

And Last Up...the Harbour Fountain

Sadly, my day shipwatching had to come to a close.  I had to go to a friend's 40th birthday party and it's not often that you can do that.  There were still a few more ships to be had that day but they weren't passing by until later.
My last ship of the day was the saltie, the Harbour Clear.  I assume she is owned by Nordic Tankers as they have several ships that being with the name Harbour.
There are many Great Lakes folks that don't like the salties.  I'm not one of them, I think they bring a deal of variety to the ships.  Not that Great Lakes ships are monotonous at all but still.
Usually they are brightly colored and have unique configurations.
This particular one is a tanker that is heading up to my birth town of Bay City.
 A shot of her profile.
And she continues on.
