Stopping at Embury Road

After catching the ships, I decided that I wanted to head up to Mio.

I ended up taking a circuitous route that took me by Embury Road.  Most of the flowers were gone but I did catch this trillium.  It looked sad but not as sad as the other flowers.
I think this Canadian anemone.
But I'm honestly not sure.
But it's a pretty flower.

Return to Embury Road

I decided to head over to Embury Road today.  It has been a while since I've been there.  I wasn't sure what I was going to see since the weather has been so wonky this year.
First up was some solomon's seal.
Another one.
I'm not sure what this is.
Or this.
I think this is a violet.
A trillium but there wasn't as much as I've seen in past years.
Still a pretty cool looking flower.
I tried some other angles.
I am not sure what this one is.
Or this one.

A Stop at Embury Road

So I decided to take my mother over to Embury Road today.  I didn't think there were a ton of ships passing and we needed to take care of other things so that kind delayed the start of my day.  It also didn't help that a nasty thunderstorm passed through as we were getting ready to leave.  Anyway.

After some navigating the dirt road that was full of potholes, I made it to my first flower.
The marsh marigolds were pretty much on the dying end of the scale, so I didn't take any pictures of them.
I liked that the blossoms for the may apples were out but they were a little difficult to get pictures of.  I think I managed fairly well though.
I think this was a Canadian anemone.
Another may apple.
And I finally got my stand of trillium.
These are my favorite flowers but it didn't seem like there was as many of them this year.
The rain drops added, I think.
These look like they are on the way out though.
I was able to get some different though.
I think I like this one the best.
This one was back in the woods a bit.
Another Canada anemone.
The light was just about right.
One more and then I headed off.

A Return to Embury Road

So on Saturday my mom and I took a bit of a whirlwind tour.   I wanted to get some pictures of a couple lighthouses with my drone.  I kind of took the scenic way of getting to those points and that meant a stop at Embury Road.

The Jack in the pulpit finally made its way out.
This is a pretty cool looking flower.
I think it may be related to the Venus fly trap.
I'm pretty sure they will eat insects.  I think water gathers in the bottom and that is used to digest flies and what not.
But still a pretty cool looking flower.
I think this is a false Solomon's seal.
Spring beauties.
More of those.
I'm not sue what this is.
But it is a pretty flower.
Different types.
One more.
A May apple.
I used the flash to get this shot.
And this is a trillium.
Another one.
A trio of them.
And I found another Jack in the pulpit.
I'm not sure why it has different coloring.
And I'll finish with some more trillium.
This is a pretty flower.

And one more before moving on.
