The BBC St. Petersburg Makes an Appearance

It wasn't too long before the next ship made an appearance.

The ship in question was the BBC St. Petersburg.
I think she was on her way to Chicago.
Normally a ship like this would be carrying wind turbine blades but I think she was going to pick up cargo.
She was built this year and can carry 12,400 metric tons of cargo.
Her cranes can lift 250 metric tons.
She is about 450 feet long and about 70 feet wide.
The bow shot.
A couple more with my regular camera.

And then I switched to my drone.
I wish she had blades on her deck.
the almost beam shot.
The pilot boat about to pass her.
And she continues out into Lake Huron.
One more shot.

The BBC Ohio Docked at Sarnia

It's truly amazing how many salt water vessels call on the Great Lakes every year.  I think there are certainly over 100 and it may even be pushing 200.  But sometimes it seems like you can see as many salties as lakers.
The BBC Ohio is one of those.  She happened to be docked in Sarnia while I was waiting for the next ship.  Not sure what she was doing there but I thought it made a fairly neat picture.

Ships Not Otherwise Classified

These are ships I only took a couple pictures of and I don't really want to make a separate post for each of them.
The Joseph H. Thompson, Jr. has appeared on this blog before.  She is the tug portion that pushes the Joseph H. Thompson barge.
The BBC Olympus is one of several salties that ply the Great Lakes.  She is picking up cargo from the Detroit Port.  I'm not sure what cargo that is.  I don't have a ton of information on her either.
The Cuyahoga unloading in Windsor.
