The Diamond Queen and Detroit Princess

 A couple more pictures before the main attraction.

I saw the Diamond Queen coming down.  I figured I would get some pictures of her.

I'm not sure if this was one of the normal cruises or a charter.

I also saw the Detroit Princess.  I really like the looks of this boat.

The Diamond Queen Passes By

 Again, while I was waiting for my first ship, this boat passed by.

She was the Diamond Queen and she was doing a tour.

I think this is the one that comes out of Milliken State Park.

Shortly after this picture, she was turning around.

Catching the Diamond Queen

Occasionally, I get to see the tour boats that pass by.

The Diamond Queen is one of them.

It is part of the Diamond tours.

There is one tour that starts in Wyandotte and comes up to the Ambassador Bridge.  I think this is that one.

There is also one that goes from Milliken down.

It's a pretty neat looking set of boats.

Looks like it was pretty crowded.

Catching the Diamond Queen

I decided to go down to Riverside Park today.  I was hoping to catch the Lee A. Tregurtha as she passed.  Other things got in the way of my plans though but it was still a decent day.

The first thing I saw was the Diamond Queen on a tour.

I think the Diamond Queen is the one that is used for private tours.  I'm not sure if the tour season has started yet.

She was flying an Interlake flag.  I thought that maybe Interlake had bought the company and then I remembered that she probably passed the Tregurtha.

It was pretty nice to see though.
 

Other Things on the River

Just a couple of things that didn't warrant posts of their own.

 As I got to Milliken, this ship was passing by fairly quickly.  With the Munson in view, I didn't pay much attention to her though.  She is the Federal St. Laurent and is heading to Montreal.

 I believe this is a commorant.

The Diamond Queen

Summer means that the Diamond Jack cruises will be wandering around the Detroit River.

One of the cruises leaves from the dock at Milliken State Park.  Another one leaves from Wyandotte.  I think I would like to take the cruise that leaves from Wyandotte because that goes by the Boblo Boats.  There might also be a better chance of seeing freighters from that cruise.
