And Then There Was the American Century

The next ship wasn't too far away either.

Except the next ship was heading downbound.
I think she was heading from the Midwest Energy Terminal in Superior with a load of coal.
I say that because she was heading to St. Clair and coal is the only thing they take.
As I type, she is there right now.
The makes the turn for the channel.
It was a pretty nice day out.
Another turn.
the bow shot.
She makes another turn for the channel.
She is about to pass under the bridge.
Framed by the bridge.
She continues on.
The full extent of her thousand feet.
Her pilot house.
She passes by.

One more shot before heading off.

Catching a Rhino

The next ship was fairly close behind.  In fact, I missed a few angles but that's okay.

The Mark W. Barker was heading up from Detroit.
Again, I'm not sure where she was before that because Detroit was a fueling stop.
She's heading over to Green Bay.
Not sure what she is carrying though.
I'm going to guess that she is carrying stone though.
There's been quite a few ships heading to Green Bay lately.
They might be doing some construction nearby.
Framed by the Blue Water Bridge.
I like this angle.
I like it better without the casino tower.
She is about passing by.
Her pilothouse.
She passes into Lake Huron.

The CSL Welland Passes By

So after heading to Embury Road, I decided to head over to Port Huron.  I saw that there were a couple of ships that would be passing.

First up is the CSL Welland.
She was heading from the other side of the Welland Canal.
Her origin says Port Colborne but that is the last port she stopped at.
She is heading up to Thunder Bay.
Not sure what she is picking up though.
I like the fact there is another CSL ship with a mural.
It's a pretty cool mural too.
She's framed by the Blue Water Bridge.
And again.
She starts to pass.
I kind of like this angle.
Her pilot house.
She passes.
And she continues on to Lake Huron.

Return to Embury Road

I decided to head over to Embury Road today.  It has been a while since I've been there.  I wasn't sure what I was going to see since the weather has been so wonky this year.
First up was some solomon's seal.
Another one.
I'm not sure what this is.
Or this.
I think this is a violet.
A trillium but there wasn't as much as I've seen in past years.
Still a pretty cool looking flower.
I tried some other angles.
I am not sure what this one is.
Or this one.
