There are a number of miscellaneous ships in the Soo area. I think a few of them are in the process of getting scrapped though.
The Yankcanuck was built at Collingwood Shipyards in 1963. She is classified as a general self unloading cargo ship but she was built as a steel hauling ship to take steel from Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. to Detroit, MI. She has always been the Yankcanuck and is 324 feet long and can carry almost 5,000 tons of cargo.
She is currently operated by Algoma Steel under charter but is on a long term layup.
I can't quite make out the name of this tug.
This is the Arthur K. Atkinson, she was a railroad ferry at one point in her life and was operated by the Ann Arbor Railroad. She was named for the President of the company at the time of her construction. She was put in layup in 1982 and is probably going to become scrap.

The tug in the second photo is Avenger IV, a 120 foot long tug used to push barges for Purvis Marine (who also owns Yankcanuck)
