The Defiance/Ashtabula

Next up is the tug/barge combo the Defiance/Ashtabula.

 This vessel has appeared on this blog a few times in the past, so I'm not going to go into her history.

 There are some tug/barges that I like but this isn't one them.  I think the barge looks too ungainly but I guess that doesn't really matter since ships aren't in beauty contests. 

 Up until the introduction of the Chinese ships, she was one of the newer vessels on the Lakes.

 She is heading up from her namesake of Ashtabula.

 I do like the look of her tug though.

And she continues on her way to Charlevoix.
