Driving Along the Red Arrow Highway

The other purpose of our trip on Sunday was to ride along the Red Arrow Highway.
Our Journey on the Red Arrow Highway started in Mattawan, Michigan and ended near the Michigan-Indiana border just south of New Buffalo, MI.  It began in 1911 as the West Michigan Pike and was the first continuous concrete highway in the state of Michigan.  It was part of a strategy to bring tourists from Chicago into West Michigan.  By 1930, western Michigan became known as Chicago's Riviera.  I kind of wish I had more time to explore and I'm pretty sure a more extensive trip will be the subject of a new post.
One of the courthouses along the way.  I love the looks of these old courthouses.
 An old store.
 Details of that building.
Another old storefront.
