As I was between planes during the air show, I heard a train approaching.
I looked and saw that it was a special one. This is one of the Norfolk-Southern heritage units.
This is from the Virginian Railroad. It was founded in 1907 and served Virginia and West Virginia. It was used to transport coal from West Virginia to Hampton Roads which is near Norfolk.
It ceased to exist when it merged with Norfolk-Southern in 1959.
