These posts are kind of out of order. The next vessel passed by the river as the Cuyahoga was getting ready to leave.
The Anglian Lady was carrying her barge. I think she usually carries coils of steel from the steel mill in Sault Ste Marie. Her AIS said she was going to Windsor. Somehow I don't think that is correct.
I'm going to guess that she is returning to Sault Ste Marie and she'll probably be there sometime tomorrow.
She's a pretty nice looking tugboat at anyrate and she's been on this page before.
But then again, I always think its cool when I catch a tug.
One more shot of her.

Next Up...the Anglian Lady
Continuing with my pictures from Saturday...
After the American Century came the Anglian Lady.
She is owned by Purvis Marine Limited out of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. I'm pretty sure she's appeared on this blog before.
I can see why some people like tugs because they are pretty cool looking vessels.
One more shot of her before moving on.

Anglian Lady and Ironmaster Getting a Hand from Manitou
I had the day off yesterday, so I decided to go boatwatching. I was entertaining the idea of catching the Calumet on the West Side of the State but I wasn't sure what port she was going to. I did see that Port Huron and area would be fairly busy, so I headed over that way.
As I was approaching Port Huron, I saw that the Ironmaster was being handled by a pair of tugs.
At the front was the Manitou. Normally, you would see a barge like this getting pushed by one tug but I suspect that the Anglian Lady was having some issues due to the current. So it looks like she was getting a hand from the Manitou.
At any rate, it made for a pretty nice picture.
I'll have to say that the Manitou is a pretty nice looking tug.
The Anglian Lady isn't too bad either.
the Manitou continues on.
For some reason, I really like this shot.

A Couple Shots of the Anglian Lady
I decided to stick around for a couple shots of a tugboat. I don't get enough pictures of those.
The tugboat in question was the Anglian Lady which is owned by Purvis Marine.
I'm pretty certain she's been on here before, so I'm not going to go into many details.
And she heads up the river.

A Pair of Tugs
I decided to head over to Port Huron on Tuesday night because Sarnia was holding a fireworks display for Canada Day. It was actually a pretty nice night but I was hoping to catch a little more in the way of shipping. As it was, I missed the H. Lee White because I decided to take M-29 instead of going straight to Port Huron. Oh well.
I did manage to catch the Manitou in action though. I've taken a few pictures of her as she was docked in Port Huron. She is a pretty nice looking tug.
She was helping another tug with a barge. I'm not sure why.
The Manitou was helping the Anglian Lady which is owned by Purvis Marine out of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. She was built in 1973 and has a 3500 horsepower diesel engine.
She is kind of a cool looking tug.
But not as cool as the Manitou.
