Miscellaneous Boats

Sometimes there is a lull between ships.  When that happens, I take pictures of other things.

This sailboat was out on Lake Huron.  I kind of liked the looks of it.
One of the fish tugs.
And a pair of fish tugs.

And the Anglian Lady

These posts are kind of out of order.  The next vessel passed by the river as the Cuyahoga was getting ready to leave.
The Anglian Lady was carrying her barge.  I think she usually carries coils of steel from the steel mill in Sault Ste Marie.  Her AIS said she was going to Windsor.  Somehow I don't think that is correct.
I'm going to guess that she is returning to Sault Ste Marie and she'll probably be there sometime tomorrow.
She's a pretty nice looking tugboat at anyrate and she's been on this page before.
But then again, I always think its cool when I catch a tug.
One more shot of her.

A Fish Tug

The Pathfinder was being closely followed by the next vessel.
There is a fairly nice sized fishing fleet over in Sarnia.  This is the Mike J.
I think these are pretty nice looking boats but I don't see them often enough.

Catching the Avenger IV and her Barge

As I arrived in Port Huron, I noticed a tug coming down.
The Avenger IV is owned by Purvis Marine out of Sault Ste Marie, Ontario.    She was built in 1962 by Cochrane & Sons in Yorkshire, England.
She was pushing a barge that is also owned by Purvis Marine.
I'm not sure what they were carrying though.
Here she is framed by the Blue Water Bridge.
And she continues on her way to Hamilton, Ontario.

Next Up...the Anglian Lady

Continuing with my pictures from Saturday...
After the American Century came the Anglian Lady.
She is owned by Purvis Marine Limited out of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.  I'm pretty sure she's appeared on this blog before.
I can see why some people like tugs because they are pretty cool looking vessels.
One more shot of her before moving on.

A Couple Shots of the Anglian Lady

I decided to stick around for a couple shots of a tugboat.  I don't get enough pictures of those.
The tugboat in question was the Anglian Lady which is owned by Purvis Marine.
I'm pretty certain she's been on here before, so I'm not going to go into many details.
And she heads up the river.

The Wilfred M. Cohen Passes Mission Point

The Sam Laud was followed fairly closely by the next vessel.
The next vessel was the barge PML 9000.  Well the barge was being pushed by something.
And that something was the Wilfred M. Cohen which is owned by the Purvis Marine Company.
A shot of the barge's bow.
The tug was built in Newport News, VA by the Newport News Shipbuilding Company in 1947.  I'm pretty sure she had the upper pilothouse added at some point.
She's also a pretty nice looking tug.
I wasn't sure where she was heading though.
