The CSL Niagara Passes Port Huron

 

While I was waiting for the next ship, there was a ship coming downbound.

I think the lighting was a little better for this because it was behind me.

She makes way for the first turn.

She starts her turn for the channel entrance.

Gives me a brief bow shot.

And she continues her turn.

I think this is perfectly lit.

She starts to make her turn for the river entrance.

It's kind of fun to watch the dance up here.

Next Up the CSL Niagara

It wasn't too long for the next ship to appear.

 The ship in question was the CSL Niagara.  She is owned by the Canada Steamship Lines.

 She is also one of the newer boats on the lakes but you would never figure that out by looking at her.

 It is pretty typical for the Canadian boats to look like this because they end up going through more locks and they occasionally end up in the more brackish waters at the mouth of the St. Lawrence.

 I'm not sure where she was heading from but she is heading to Thunder Bay.

 I'm not sure what she will pick up there.

In about 36 hours from this shot, she will be in Thunder Bay.

The CSL Niagara at the Sterling Fuel Dock

It was a pretty nice day on Sunday and I saw that there was a ship I haven't seen in a while coming down to Detroit.  I headed down to Riverside Park in the hopes of catching her.

While I was waiting for my target ship, I looked across the river and saw the CSL Niagara docked at the Sterling Fuel Dock in Windsor.  Sadly, there was a little heat haze on my picture but it's not too bad I guess.

I know that this ship was the CSL Niagara because she was a ship I was hoping to catch in Port Huron.

I think she was heading from Nanticoke to Thunder Bay.

Ships Resting in Sarnia

I decided to head up to the St. Clair River yesterday.  I saw on Facebook that there were eagles along the way.  Sadly, I did not see any eagles but I did stop in Port Huron and I saw some ships.  Granted, they were in layup but I still had a chance to get some pictures.

 While I was in the hospital, I read that Algoma Central had bought the Buffalo, Adam Cornelius, the American Valor and American Victory.  Apparently, Algoma Central was really interested in the Buffalo and Adam Cornelius and had to take the American Valor and American Victory.  I'm pretty sure that Algoma is going to put the Buffalo and Cornelius to use as those are probably still function.  It is unclear at this point what is going to happy to the American Valor and Victory.  It would be nice to see them in action but it is possible that Algoma had to take those in order to get the ships they wanted. 

 The Samuel Risley takes a break at the docks in Sarnia.  She was recently in action but I didn't get a chance to get pictures of her.

 I know that I've see a few ships in layup here but it seems like there were more ships in the open this year.  The CSL Niagara takes her shot in a slip.

The CSL Niagara Makes an Appearance

Like I said, the ships were passing at a pretty steady pace on Saturday night.

 Next up is the CSL Niagara.  She is owned by the Canada Steamship Lines (which no longer has any steamships...go figure).

As I was following the Peter Cresswell down the St Marys River, I noticed that there was a ship coming up the River.

 That ship was the CSL Niagara.  She's one that has appeared on here before.

 She is one of many ships owned by the Canada Steamship Lines.  For rear decker, she's a pretty nice looking ship.
