A couple of weeks ago, I was going to take the trek from Hell to Paradise but I got sidetracked by some boats. On Saturday, I decided that I would make the trek and if I was able to catch any boats, it would be a bonus.
Hell is an unincorporated town about 15 miles northwest of Ann Arbor. That for the most part means that it is mostly a tourist trap. It looks like there might be a couple of good restaurants there, so I might have to check them out.
For some reason, it seems like this should be near a river.
The directions to other heaven and hell type towns.
The town I was interested in was north.
Paradise is in the upper peninsula and is about 338 miles away from Hell (depending on the route you take). It is an actual town about 11 miles east of Tahquamenon Falls and 11 miles south of Whitefish point. This bear is in front of a gas station that is open all year around. It is actually a nice little area.

A Brief Stop at Whitefish Point
My next stop was Whitefish Point. I can't pass up the opportunity to take a lighthouse picture.
And Whitefish Point is one of my favorites. The light was just about right, although there were a few snow flurries. I wasn't going to do much wandering around as it was pretty cold and windy.
That still didn't preclude me from getting a few shots.
My favorite angle for lighthouses.
It is still pretty desolate though.
A slightly different version of the first angle.
Looking from the back.
This gives you an idea of just how much snow was there.
This probably gives you a better idea.

Some Shots of the Upper Peninsula
Just some shots of the Upper Peninsula
The road from Tahquamenon to Paradise. Even though you see snow, it didn't seem too bad.
A little further up that road.
As were taking the road from Paradise to Whitefish Point, I saw a couple of snowmobilers. Unfortunately, the other picture didn't turn out as well as this one.
The bear statue outside of the gas station/party store I usually stop at.
Another angle of that statue.
Roughly halfway between St. Ignace and Tahquamenon Falls is the town of Trout Lake. I usually end up stopping here because there is usually a train waiting here. That hasn't been the case lately.
A view of the town. As you can see there isn't much here.
Looking at the other side.
Looking down the tracks.
One more shot of Trout Lake.
As we were heading down the road, noticed this up in the sky. I shot this one in manual.
And then in auto exposure. I think I like the manual one better.
