One of the main reasons I decided to head up to Port Huron was that I was going to get a chance to see a pair of ships that I've never seen before.
The Alaskaborg is one of the ships that is owned by Wagenborg.
She is homeported in Delfzijl, Netherlands which is located on the northeast corner of the country. It is the fifth largest seaport in the country which is probably pretty impressive given the maritime status of the Dutch. It was established at a point where three water outlets connected. This gave it some importance. Originally a fortification but that was removed in 1875. Currently, a little over 25,000 people call it home.
The Alaskaborg was built in 2012
She's actually a pretty nice looking vessel but then again, I'm starting to grow fond of the salties.
She gives a nice beam shot.
A shot with some reflections.
The sky was looking pretty cool. She will continue on her way to Montreal. After that, I'm not sure what she will do.
